"I've bought multiple game guides and this one is by far the worst ever. It's basically useless. The maps don't tell you much of anything. You can't tell where the quests start or finish. Most quests it only gives a paragraph or two. The details seemed rushed and ill thought out. They could have done so much more. Even the camp guide section is worse than the instructions you get in game. I tried to find a weapon location and there is nothing. I tried to find where a worst starts... Zilch. I tried to find what quests are in a certain time.... Nothing!
I don't know what this book is, but it is not a game guide!"

Fallout 76 Official Collector Edition Guide David Hodgson Garitt Rocha 9780744019025 Books Reviews
- This is a well put together book, much like the Fallout 4 guide. It is not as in depth as I would like, as the old Fallout 3 guide was, but it works. But I do want to point out that the book is really not needed as much. I say this because the game is only online. This means the game is going to change, things are going to get added. I will also point out the magazines and bobbleheads are no longer lasting effects but timed effects. So finding them all is not as important. There is not branching story lines or key choices, all the quests are very liner. The quest guide in the book is also very basic and really just acts as a quick summary.
All in all the book is nice, not perfect. It is also not really needed and only recommended for someone that wants all things fallout. - This is a review of the "Fallout 76 Official Guilde."
Update I highly recommend this guide. I have now played Fallout 76 for more than 200 hours. This guide book has been an outstanding help to me. I would have been stuck a few times without the helpful hints in this book. The tips are just enough to be helpful without dropping "spoilers." Very thorough and professional publication. I particularly like the maps and diagrams.
In short, I am very impressed with this official guide. I have had a few frustrating moments in this game due to the lack of guidance. Well, now I have all guidance anyone could desire. The book comes with a code to use a free eGuide. I have not yet tried that.
Wow, this guides is big! When I ordered it, I had no idea it was so large. It is 544 large pages (roughly 8 inches by 11 inches). The print is really, really teeny-tiny I would guess that it is 5 point type or less. So, I hope you either have young eyes or very good reading glasses. With 544 of large pages filled with tiny print, they managed to include just about everything you could possibly want to know while Playing Fallout 76.
Personally, I prefer to figure things out for myself; but when I get stuck or frustrated, it is nice to have some pointers. This is a "How To" guide on doing everything in the game, from using you Pip Boy to crafting armor and weapons to constructing your camp to keeping yourself healed, fed, rested and hydrated, etc.
Especially helpful There is very detailed guidelines and explanations of the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system and the PERK cards. I have been carefully reading the guidelines for PERK cards. I did it all wrong! Well, half wrong.
It looks like most quests are described, at least the main pointers. I would only look at quest guidance if I could not figure things out for myself, or after the fact to see what I might have missed. I looked at the guidelines for a few quests I was struggling with the guidance is short and perfect - - - just enough guidance, but not enough to spoil the experience. There are some excellent detailed maps in the guide; I will be using those during game play. There are also lay-out drawings of interiors. - Most of this "guide" was learned in the first couple week without it. I played the beta and by the time this arrived on release day I knew every bit of the important info and more. It doesn't offer answers to questions like locations to any items or materials which is probably the most important of them all. It will walk you through some quests (vaguely) and it has a cool map, that's about all it's good for to be honest. I've used the map a handful of times and the 2 other I attempted to use it for questing but it was too vague. Paid $50 for the hardcover too. Would have been worth it had it released when the BETA started, or before, so I could have learned a bit in the off days. Otherwise it's kinda useless, sadly.
- People this is really a great product dont get me
Wrong. My faith in deivering books has gone away. The corners of this book came bent, looks like they throw them. Tired of ordering replacements for the same reason. LAST BOOK ORDERING FROM AMAZON.
*Back to the book
-The book has awesome detail about everything from Quest, Side quest, Events, and
miscellaneous quests.
- gorgeous color and description
- bonus map has every detail and description
- great description on everything from Perks, Cooking, crafting and etc.
Overall great product 10/10 - Fallout classic came with a guide book, spiral bound, explaining how to play and how to build the special system character. This was more commonly referred to as a game manual, but interplay got it right for their masterpiece. This is the next best thing to that standard to which only the best classic games adhered.
Although this game is constantly being improved and therefore the info we see in the book has only limited usefulness, the value of this is in both archival and in being able to fully experience the depth of a gaming setting. I’ve already used the book several times to understand elements of the later game so I can build my level up skills and decisions, as well as find a few pieces of directions while exploring side quest content. - It's missing a LOT of information - for instance it doesn't list two of the later game types of Power Armor (namely the X-01, and one other I can't recall the name of, that is new to the game). It's a nice looking guide though, as I've come to expect from the publisher.

I don't know what this book is, but it is not a game guide! - The book is awesome, but unfortunately the corners were damaged when it arrived. I'm probably going to send it back
