• It's a recipe book on how to make Clone Cordials. its ok, and it maybe cheaper and may be better than what you buy at the liquor store, so it depends on how much you drink if you want to save money, or how picky you are about the flavor ! maybe both! its about blending ingredients together to come up with the right flavor. its not rocket science, but it is interesting to how you at home can do it. a simple, inexpensive hobby to have, compared to buying it. fun? well, its something easy to do, and it tastes good too!
• My neighbor friend had an edition of this and has used it to make several cordials. I wanted it for my library and just in case I decide to try a recipe or two. The recipes call for much more sugar and preparation than I expected. However, if you are into making some of your own vintages, this is a wonderful book to have. I purchased the hard back.
• This book is not innovative at all. Many of the recipes use “flavorings” instead of really making cordials / liqueurs from anything natural.
  Sorry I bought the book.
• Lost this during many moves, now I again.
• I was expecting more infusion recipes for various spirits and this book includes recipes for mostly vodka. I'm sure it will come in handy, though.
• I gave this book as a gift to someone who is creative and loves to make their own liqueurs. Wow! This book has some great ideas- and great places to start. Even if you find a recipe not completely to your liking, it provides inspiration on how to modify or adapt to make the liqueur more to your personal taste. I highly recommend this book. And the orange dreamsicle liqueur..........is great on the rocks! )
• I get so many compliments on what I've made from this cookbook. Cordials can range from needing to age for a month to being able to drink right away. The recipes tend to run very sweet for my taste, so I cut the amount of sugar needed in half at least.
• I feel this is a great book for anybody at any level of making cordials. I especially liked that the author leaves me with the feeling that "I can do this!", and that even if you don't follow exact ingredients, or change a few, it will still be a fun, learning experience.

• This Haynes teardown manual for the Saturn Vue is exactly what it purports to be - a teardown manual for the Saturn Vue.
  
  Item is exactly as expected, and is quite helpful in doing some of my own maintenance on this vehicle.

  I was a bit skeptical about doing my own work since I am mechanically declined but I gave it a shot.
  
  The manual paid for itself the first time I used it to replace a side view mirror that my wife had knocked off of the car.

• I thought it couldn’t Get better than the first English version. But it did. It’s better because it has a special emotion tied in to reading it in Spanish. The cover is amazing. The cover brings the emotion of the story into whole into a whole new perspective. The way the mother looks out as in searching for her children is emotional and real. I’m always blown away by this authors writkng and stories, but this by far is my favorite book. Must read. Must buy. Even if you don’t read in Spanish, it is a beautiful accessory to your coffee table. Bravo!
• Loved the Red Umbrella and now bought this version for my Spanish speaking friends. They loved it just as much as I did! It's really a great read for any age!

This story is unusual but true--as told by eyewitnesses or by those whose lives overlapped those eyewitnesses. The story is about the lives of four generations of ancestors beginning in old Europe and then coming to America in the 1800s with a wave of other immigrants. They moved westward, lured by the promises of homesteads. They became the last of the pioneers as they reached the wilderness frontiers of Canada in the far West. They had been held back by the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression but then escaped to something better in California. These family lines were linked by a trusted belief system that informed them and gave them hope. There was an unpredictable series of good things and bad things that happened to them on a daily basis. Their Christian worldview and trust in God saw them through these many struggles. Keith E. Andersen was born in Alberta, Canada, in 1932. He graduated from high school in Kelseyville, California, in 1949. He then served four years in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954. He graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Masters Degree, together with teaching and school administration credentials. He taught in the public schools for five years before serving as school principle for thirteen years. He served as Assistant Superintendent until retiring in 1990. He served for more than thirty years in public education. The author has served in his local church for over fifty years as adult Bible teacher, elder, deacon, and other roles. He is active in the distribution of bibles through Gideons International. The author and his wife of 58 years live in Napa, California and have four adult children and six grandchildren.

• Marva Dawn writes from the early '90's, but her views on sexuality based on her research of the Scriptures are as relevant today as they were then, if not more so. As society continues to use (and overuse) technology, we see more difficulty in interpersonal communication. Dawn is not alone in pointing out our culture's lack of intimacy and the problems this causes, but she is one of the first to do so. I recommend this book for anyone in ministry who is trying to figure out how to communicate an ethic of sexuality or for anyone struggling to understand a Biblical view of sex.

• "My parents don't tuck me in. They jusy say good-night over the intercom." Marva tells this true story of a little boy in a Christian school who was part of a class that was asked by the teacher, "How do your parents tuck you in at night?" I'm sure the teacher was hoping students would say, "We say a prayer together" or "They read me a Bible story." Not this little boy.
  
  Marva uses this story to show how Time and Technology have messed up our priorities. The parents had the technology to say "good-night" over the intercom, so why invest the time to walk up the stairs, hug their little boy, tell him a story, and give him a kiss good night?
  
  Our misuse of Time and Technology is creating a lack of intimacy between family members. Children caught in this lack of intimacy will look for it elsewhere. This desperate search for connectedness and bonding could lead them into various relationships that are harmful to them, including sexual. A misdirected search for intimacy is a major reason for young people, and older, to act out sexually.
  
  There is much more to the book, including positive discussions of family, marital sex, fulfillment and imaging God in our marital/family relationships. This is a small book, but a very, very good one.
  
  Chapter 7 alone is worth the price of the book" "The Virtues of Sexual Character for Marriage." Marva looks at the 9 fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5 and applies them to the sexual relationship in marriage. She makes the discussion spiritual and very practical. I recommend husbands and wives read this chapter together.
  
  This is an excellent book that I recommend to anyone.
• I have always thought that there should be bumper stickers that say "Christians make the best lovers". This book would be a defense of that statement. Marva Dawn uses her skills as a biblical scholar, counselor, and insightful commentator on the human condition to write a book that shows that we are not creatues that "have sex", but rather are sexual creatures. THis is a good thing, says Dawn, buut our sexuality needs to be in function of God's design. She outlines this plan in several chapters that focus on the marks of a virtuous sexual relationship.
  She also covers topics like homosexuality, abortion, marriage, celebacy, divorce, nurturing children, etc. All with great tact, compassion, and insight. She is really really good at making virtue both exciting, realistically achievable, and fulfilling.
  Great for groups or individuals (the book, I mean!).

• Very interesting little book. Childress goes a little over board with the pterodactyls/pterodons (he should have explained the differences, and sort of does at one point, but only in a couple of sentences), but he gets the general idea across. Myths, paintings, statues, statuettes, ceramics, etc around the world show humans with dinosaur looking creatures.
  
  The book has very old photos of the figurines etc found at the site. I would like to see some modern high tech photos of the same. Childress said someone has them in storage.
• I'm a fan of Hapgood's work ("Path of the Poles" and "Maps of the Ancient Sea Kings") and was happy to see "Mystery in Acambaro" available in this edition, enhanced with material from David Hatcher Childress. Hapgood's assessment of the large collection of artifacts, which show humans interacting with dinosaur-type reptiles, is that the artifacts are genuine. He had carbon dating done on some of the samples (at the time, in the 1960s, this was a new technique) and came up with dates as old as 4530 BC, but with a wide range beginning about 1100 BC. Dating of a few atrifacts by thermoluminescence yielded a date of 2500 BC. Hapgood's theory is that they represent the work of a civilization that existed over time. That so many were found in one place is explained by their being carefully sequestered, apparently to protect them from some disaster that struck the society that produced them.
  
  Hapgood researched these artifacts by visiting and spending time with their discoverer, Waldemar Julsrud, who found them on a hillside near Acambaro Mexico. Hapgood took Perry Mason author Earle Stanley Gardner with him, and together they inspected and photographed the collection, which literally filled Mr. Julsrud's home. Hapgood was well aware of the controversy surrounding these figures, which some "experts" has branded as fakes. It was easy to find reasons to dismiss representations of animals supposedly extinct millions of years ago interacting with humans. Hapgood suggests, as one theory, that these animals had survived in parts of the Americas, and had lived with humans. It is actually one of the more plausible theories, since many of the representations are accurate of known species that once existed. Unless they had great Paleontologists and equally great imaginations, it's hard to see how these ancient peoples came up with these figurines. Could these artifacts be proof of a very early civilization that we simply know nothing about? Could prehistoric reptilian animals have continued to exist long after they were supposed to be extinct?
  
  The material from David Hatcher Childress is mostly a rehash of modern searches for unknown animals, with some interesting stories of sightings of creatures that don't match any known species. Particulary interesting is the search for the Thunderbird, a huge bird known to native Americans, and scattered modern sightings of huge flying creatures. There are credible reports of sightings that seemed to be pteradactyls, a flying reptile that is not supposed to still exist. These stories are readily available in other books and on the internet, and fascinating as these tales are, a better use of the space in this book would have been an update on what's happened to the Acambaro collection. I did a search on the internet and found high-quality color pictures of some of the artifacts at [...] The color picures are wonderful, compared to the poorly reproduced black and white images in the book. It apears these figurines are in a museum in Acambaro today, preserved for visitors to see, but still controversial.
  
  The creationists have latched on to these figures as proof that evolution is wrong. However, it seems to me to be no such thing. After all, there is the coelacanth, the prehistoric fish that was supposedly extinct milions of years ago but which has been found to be swimming around today, looking exactly like the fossile version from millions of years ago. So, why didn't it evolve? And yet, we know that other animals DID evolve. That is another question that does not tell us anything about the Acambaro collection.
  
  I was glad to read that Hapgood learned of something similar in Peru - the Ica stones, a collection of stones with images of dinosaurs and humans found near Ica Peru. These are also controversial, but, like the Acambaro figures, have been shown to be old and the best evidence says they are not fakes. It seems worth serious consideration that these representations may show that humans and dinosaurs actually did exist together. I applaud Adventures Unlimited Press for making this material available again, but wish they would have provided updates on the artifacts and better quality pictures.

• This is an outstanding scholarly book that bravely faces the facts. Evolution is the proverbial theory trashed by the facts. While evolutionists talk about missing links, in the absence of any fossil evidence (except maybe the Piltdown hoax), or talk about millions of years (even though there is no way of establishing such tremendous dates of existing dinosaur fossils), they refuse to examine the evidence that shows dinosaurs and humans co-existed.
  
  Key to evolutionists assault on the truth is the claim dinosaurs pre-existed human civilization by millions of years. Yet, artwork in cultures all over the world, from Nasca, Peru, to Acambaro, Mexico, to depictions on Babylonian temples of Brontasaurus to depictions on Cambodian temples, to even European encounters, such artwork is tangible evidence that destroys the claim dinosaurs pre-existed humans.
  
  In light of the fossil evidence from Alaska and the Belgium Congo, with T-Rex bones containing fresh blood cells, the notion such creatures existed 67 million (they change the date everytime they talk about dates, so "67 million" is probably unreliable) years ago is preposterous.
  
  This book is a wonderful check on the blind faith of these left-wing extremist evolutionists. Science, not fanaticism, is allowed to take the stage in this wonderful book.
• This book really surprised me because I thought it was just going to have Charles Hapgood's story in it, but instead the first half of the book was written by David Hatcher Childress ...which was a fascinating read to say the least. If you want to know the truth about the Acambaro finds then this is the book. I found a lot of information that I had not seen previously.
• This was a way for Childress to ride on the coattails of Hapgood! I did not want a book that was written by Childress with Hapgood's part thrown in at the end! And it is not listed so that you know that the "Introduction" is half the book -( Shame on you Childress!!!
